Amata Benedict is an artistic partnership that collaborates on sculpture, textiles, and furniture. Their practice is rooted in the principles of the Renaissance ‘bottega’ workshop, where multiple disciplines converge to create works that seamlessly blend the realms of art, functional objects, and crafted artefacts. From quilted canvas to appliqué, ceramics to sculpture, and bronze, steel, and wood, their work spans a diverse range of materials and forms. The duo’s medium is shaped by repurposed textiles, deconstructed and reconfigured furniture, as well a metal sculptures and clay works. Drawing inspiration from both ancient art and everyday contemporaryobjects, Amata Benedict’s creations celebrate the intersection of history, functionality, and artistry.
