Sightlines: Framed in Distance by Rol Studio
Sightlines: Framed in Distance, 2025.
A collection of viewfinder photo frames reimagining family photographs from the Caribbean diaspora. Each frame isolates gestures, glances, and fragments of memory—acts of care that persist across oceans. Rooted in the realities of families separated through migration and work, the collection explores how distance reshapes intimacy and how design can make absence visible. By reframing what is often unseen, the work transforms longing into presence, turning lines of sight into lines of connection. Love, though dispersed, remains beautifully in focus.
Holly Rollin, is a London-based interior architect and object designer whose work at ROLSTUDIO explores the intersections of design, culture, and psychology. Through a research-driven practice, she transforms objects into vessels of storytelling and healing, blurring the line between functionality and deeper cultural expression. With a BA in Interior Architecture and an MA in Furniture and Product Design from Kingston School of Art, Rollins cultivates an intentional, sculptural approach to design. ROLSTUDIO’s debut piece, The Aura, exemplifies this ethos—a visual and sensorial device created to support meditation and reflect on the public traumas experienced by Black communities during and after COVID-19.
